John Travolta and the North American X-15: two flying legends in the Breitling Replica sky

Global star, seasoned pilot and aviation aficionado, John Travolta has been flying the Breitling Replica Emergency banner for more than 10 years.

For the new 2015 campaign advertisement, the privileged partner of aeronautics professionals depicts him alongside another flying legend, the North American X-15, exceptionally loaned by the Air Force Flight Test Museum from its base at Edwards, California. During the 1960s, this experimental rocket-plane made nearly 200 flights, pushing the limits of aeronautics and opening the door to space, notably by setting two historical records: one for altitude in 1963, at 107,960 m, and the other for speed, at 7274 km/h (Mach 6.7). The photos for this new visual co-starring Travolta and the legendary X-15 were shot in California, on the runway of the famous Mojave Air and Space Port. They are a vivid tribute to the conquest of the skies, a grand adventure with which Breitling Replica Navitimer is closely linked through its reliable, accurate and innovative instruments.

New Limited-Edition Breitling Replica Navitimer Watch Supports Honor Flight Network

Pilot-watch specialist Breitling Replica Chronospace UK has partnered with the non-profit Honor Flight Network, which flies World War II veterans to the memorial dedicated to their service in Washington, DC, to release a limited-edition Breitling watch with proceeds going to the organization. I spoke with Breitling USA president Thierry Prissert at the watch’s post-Veterans’ Day launch event at the brand’s New York City boutique.

According to Prissert, Breitling’s involvement with Honor Flight began when one of the company’s national sales directors saw the documentary film, “Honor Flight: One Last Mission,” at a film festival in Naples. The movie, which depicted the effort by the group’s Wisconsin chapter to send four retired war veterans to the WWII memorial in Washington, brought national attention to the organization and inspired Prissert, a Frenchman, to get involved after seeing it. “We are a European company, and I can relate to what World War II is about,” Prissert said. “I might not be here if it weren’t for the young Americans who died on the beaches of Normandy to save us from tyranny. This was a chance to honor an amazing generation of men and women who are, perhaps, not honored enough. According to the Veterans’ Administration, 650 World War II veterans are dying every day. They are between 92 and 100 years old. So I believe it is time to help. With the historical and aviation connections, I believe it is exactly the type of thing Breitling should be involved with.”

After initially contributing $150,000 to Honor Flight Network, a contribution that enabled nearly 300 veterans from San Diego and Wisconsin to fly to the Washington, DC memorial, Breitling Replica Emergency set out to create a limited-edition watch whose proceeds would support the charity. Prissert says that choosing the Navitimer as the model was an easy decision. “Obviously, we have lots of watches designed for pilots, but the one truly legendary Breitling pilots’ watch is the Navitimer,” he said. “Developed in 1952 and still in the collection, taken by Scott Carpenter into space, it’s one of the stars in our collection.”

The Breitling Navitimer 01 Honor Flight limited edition is distinguished by its blue dial with the Honor Flight logo below 12 o’clock and its engaved caseback, which depicts a “wreath and bracket” from the World War II memorial in Washington, DC, designed by artist Raymond Kasky. The memorial is composed of 56 of these pillars — one representing each of the 50 U.S. states and six U.S. territories that took part in World War II. Appropriately, the watch is also limited to 56 pieces. Each watch’s caseback is engraved with the name of a state or territory, a series number, and the inscription “Honor Flight – One Last Mission.” Each watch is thus a unique piece, in addition to being part of an extremely small production run.

Like other modern Breitling Navitimer 01 watches, this one contains Breitling’s in-house Caliber B01, a mechanical chronograph movement that has also received COSC chronometer certification. It also carries Breitling’s five-year warranty.

One of these new Replica Breitling Montbrillant watches, the one representing Wisconsin, was set aside for auction, raising $13,500 for Honor Flight Network. The rest, which were officially unveiled at Breitling’s New York boutique on November 12, will be available only in Breitling’s United States boutiques — there are four, in New York, Orlando, Miami, and Las Vegas — at a retail price of $9,020. Prissert acknowledged that these rare and distinctively American timpieces could eventually fetch even higher prices on the secondary market.

Breitling Replica Transocean Chronograph Unitime

Breitling Replica Emergency UK introduced its first Unitimer model — a self-winding world-time watch, now a sought-after collectors’ item — in the 1950s. At the 2012 Baselworld watch fair, the brand unveiled the updated version, the Transocean Chronograph Unitime, a timepiece that expresses the brand’s classical, aviation-inspired theme with technical innovations and a striking, modern design.

The watch features Caliber B05, based on Breitling’s first in-house movement, automatic chronograph Caliber B01, introduced in 2009. In addition to its chronograph functions, this movement (which has also subsequently been used in a Breitling Replica Bentley watches) is outfitted with a patented mechanism that allows the wearer, when changing time zones, to adjust all the indications simply by turning the crown.

The system uses two moving disks, one indicating 24 hours and the other bearing the names of 24 world cities representing the 24 major time zones. The time shown by the central hands corresponds with the timezone displayed at 12 o’clock. The city disk (which is available in several different languages) also has indications for daylight savings times. To change the time zone, the wearer simply pulls out the crown and turns it forward or backward in one-hour increments, which simultaneously corrects the central hour hand, the 24-hour disk, and even the date, which is indicated in a window at 4:30, in either direction. A traveler can then see at a glance what time it is in any other time zone in the world, including his home zone. The central minutes hand and seconds hand will continue to run during this operation without interruption; if the chronograph is switched on, it, too, continues running undisturbed.

The watch is offered in both a rose-gold and stainless-steel case, on either a leather strap or a steel Milanese bracelet. The dial options are black or “polar” white, each with an elegantly rendered globe design in the center, surrounded by sundials for the chronograph counters (at 3 o’clock and 6 o’clock) and small seconds (at 9 o’clock). Like its brethren in the Breitling Replica Navitimer line, the Transocean Chronograph Unitime is officially certified as a chronometer by the Swiss testing agency COSC. The U.S. retail price is $11,200.

A kilo of gold to reward the winner of the Breitling Replica Challenge 2014

The Breitling Replica Chronospace Challenge is a competition launched in 2012, spanning 118 countries and 15 languages. This online training platform is designed for all Breitling sales persons (8,000 participants in 2013) and offers them a playful way to test their knowledge on the brand and its collection.

Participants begin by choosing an avatar from Breitling’s aviation-dedicated world. They obtain an official certificate by answering several series of 12 multiple choice questions on subjects as varied as sales techniques, display-case arrangements or Replica Breitling Emergency calibers. After passing two rounds of 100 questions, participants have to take a “sudden death” quiz of up to 600 questions in the course of a tougher third round.

Despite all these difficulties, two participants tied for first prize in this 2014 edition of the Breitling Replica Montbrillant Challenge. They will be invited to Switzerland in December to receive a prize unique in its kind: a one-kilo solid gold ingot worth around CHF 40,000. Moreover, 11 Transocean 1461 Limited Edition models will also be awarded to the various regional winners.
